Manager of Planning and Investments
John May, CFP® serves three key roles for the firm; Manager of Planning and Investments, Client Advisor and coordinator of technology used to communicate with clients.
John heads the Planning and Investment Management departments but started as an analyst and learned the financial planning business from the ground up and today has a vast knowledge of various planning ideas, methods to save client’s money, making good elections as they enter retirement and ways to invest their monies to grow but still be prudently protected.
In that same role he heads the investment research for the firm which monitors fund performance, identifies new investment topics to consider and tracks client portfolios to assure client target allocations are being followed and results are as expected. He watches the financial markets regularly to be able to help clients keep abreast of current market trends. He is also responsible for trading and rebalancing all client accounts.
With his vast planning, tax and investment knowledge, he now works with many clients directly as their advisor. In other situations, he supports senior advisers on technical planning with knowledge, ideas and plan preparation.
John’s strong technological background and abilities allows him to keep Reed Financial at the technology fore front of investment research, client reporting, trading and rebalancing along with managing the financial details of the client’s life.
John has spent his professional career working with Reed Financial Services, where he really appreciates the close knit working environment and the team approach to client service.
John is a Certified Financial Planner, holds a Bachelor of Science in Financial Services, with a concentration in Financial Planning from the University of Akron. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children. Keeping up with technology changes is an interest and hobby of John’s.

Brandon Schnittke is a Financial Analyst for Reed Financial Services. Brandon is primarily responsible for developing financial plans, generating internal reports and research. He keeps a keen eye on our clients’ portfolios, in order to best serve their needs.
Brandon joined Reed Financial Services as an intern during his senior year of college in 2014. During this time, he worked very closely with Amanda, Jim and John to develop a great understanding of how to apply his knowledge. Upon graduation, Brandon joined the firm full-time as an Analyst. He enjoys working with the seasoned veterans of the business and appreciates the team approach throughout the firm. He monitors investments, economics, and financial events, in order to affirm that Reed’s clients are positioned to best succeed.
Brandon holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance Services, with a concentration in Financial Planning from the University of Akron. He is an intense sports enthusiast and enjoys racing Karts as a hobby.
Evan Watson is a Research Analyst and Trader for Reed Financial Services. Evan is primarily responsible for compiling and organizing research regarding economics and investments. He also tracks the performance and implementation of the portfolios. Through guidance with the investment team, Evan selects topics for analysis and review.
Evan joined Reed Financial Services in April of 2017. Prior to being with Reed Financial Services, Evan worked in the industry as an intern which then turned into a full time position. In that position he gained experience in all aspects of the business from working with clients to investment research.
Evan enjoys working with the rest of the team to achieve a common goal of providing financial services to the client. He works closely with the investment team with tracking down ideas and research to answer questions that may arise internally or from the clients. He spends time looking at economic developments as well as market data to stay aware of the changing environment. Evan also reviews any topics with the team at the monthly Investment Committees. Additionally, Evan assists in trading the portfolios.
Evan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Cleveland State University. He will begin work on his Masters in the fall of 2017. Outside of work, Evan enjoys spending his time with friends and family. His spare time is usually spent watching sports and being outdoors.
